Well, where do I start. Let me begin with the reservation that was made “8 months” prior to camping here. The reservation was made for a group of sites and the sites were assigned at the time of the reservation. During the summer, one camper in our group purchased a larger fifth wheel and we called to make sure the size of the assigned site would be sufficient. We found out at that time that our site assignments had been changed. So we made note of the new sites. When arriving in October, our group was changed yet again to different sites in a completely different area of the campground. We were never notified of any of these site reassignments. The campground is owned by a husband/wife. The husband was very helpful in trying to accommodate our group, unfortunately the wife was a different story. When checking in, I was informed the Good Sam discount is only given to cash or check payments. I was paying with a charge card, so when I asked about this, the wife became extremely mouthy for no reason and proceeded to complain to me about the problems with discounts as well as other problems. As a customer, I really do not care to hear this. She just kept going on and on and on. I did not raise my voice but I told her several times that I had heard enough and asked her to stop, but to no avail. Unbelievable. If this is how she treats customers who asks questions, this place is in trouble. This campground is just okay. The sites are very close together and not very level. Our first and last time here. There are much better campgrounds in the area. We will not return.
If you are looking for a nice relaxing place to stay near Myrtle Beach, then this is the place. The sites are long, spacious, paved and each has a concrete patio. There is a one mile path around the lake that is paved and perfect for walks and bike rides. Staff is helpful and friendly. This is just a great place to stay and the overall setting is beautiful. We plan to make this an annual visit.
We love stopping here. Owners and staff are nice friendly folks. Sites are very long, level, well graveled and spacious. The fenced pet playground is great for letting your pet get some well deserved exercise after a long ride. This place should be a model for other parks/campgrounds.
This campground has expanded from last year. We stayed in one of the new sites. Good spacing between new sites and good gravel, but the sites were not very level. Staff was friendly. The campground was spread out enough to ride bikes. We went to the annual pig roast for the first time. Very disappointing. Everything was cold and no sauce provided for the meat. However, this would not stop us from coming back just to enjoy the campground.
Nice campground. We stayed in a pull thru space behind the office. These spaces are very long and roomy with a concrete patio. Not much shade, but the spaces are great. Staff was friendly. Conveniently located off of I-20. Campground is next to a big flea market with lots of interesting items to see during the weekend. We visit the area several times a year and will be staying here again.
This is a nice place. This campground was very clean with gravel roads. The sites are gravel with grass between sites. We stayed in the new section and although trees were planted, it will take a couple years to provide more shade. The staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient to all sites in Amish country and the outlets. We plan to return to the area and will stay at this campground again.
This was our first time at this campground. We had a lakefront site in the Poplar section. The site had a concrete pad and nice view of the lake. We walked around the campground and found there are lots of great sites to choose from. Although no sewer is available at the sites, for a small fee they come around and cleaned out your tanks during the day. This is a relaxing place with beautiful views. We plan to return.
This is a great campground (especially up on the hill), however, some refreshment work needs to be done up there. The size of the sites are great, but the condition of the gravel on the roads and sites have deteriorated the last few years. When it is dry the dust is terrible and when it is rainy it gets muddy and extremely dirty. We really love this campground, but unless some improvement to the roads and sites are done, we will not return as often.
